Language Arts Reflection

I have chosen my fiction story because it is one of my best pieces. To think of a character I had to ask my self a question that would help me give him or her traits struggles, and actions. Creating the story I had to make an issue that is important to my character and his struggles with the issue. I have to know what are my character’s motivations or longings. When I was creating all of my characters in the story I had to know their internal traits and their external traits to make sure my audience understood them.

To plan how the events would be logical, and I had to think of the ending before I actually wrote the beginning using a story map. I had to make my setting compatible with my characters goals or wants. I also had to really describe my setting to make the reader can see a movie in their mind. Towards the middle of the story I have made it clear what my character wants, and the obstacle that is stopping them from their wants. When I was adding dialogue I had to make sure that the whole story was not dialogue but so it is balanced with my writing. I had many small moments after small moments leading to my climax. After I finished my story I had to make sure there were no loose ends to make sure I answer everything.

I had many good points of my story but I also had some things I could have improved. My story was good because it is one of the longest stories I have ever wrote. It was eight and a half pages long. I had a lot of conversation throughout the whole story and it was fairly balanced with my writing. Some things I had to improve are things like making sure the ending is completely realistic. I also have to go through my whole piece very slowly and find my spelling mistakes or I should use spell check because they always hurt my score. (Or end up getting me a ninety nine.) Something I always lose points on is numbers. I never spell them out and I always just put the numbers in, and it is the same with when I state times during my piece. Generally, I think I did well for my first fiction story.
